NATIONAL POLICY ADOPTION BY CLUBS AND ASSOCIATIONS

The BHA board embraces the national policy documents, to ensure a consistent approach for hockey at all levels.
Graeme Hall, Hockey WA's General Manager Operations and Competitions, explained the need to foster a consistent approach to developing policies. See the extract from his letter below.
This strategic decision by the Hockey WA Board is a significant step towards fortifying the governance of hockey as a sport. By adopting a comprehensive suite of national policies, resources, and guidelines, all clubs and associations affiliated with Hockey WA can benefit from a unified approach to hockey at all levels. This includes National Sporting Associations (Hockey Australia), State Sporting Associations (Hockey WA), and Regional Hockey Associations and Hockey WA clubs.
As an "Australian Hockey Organisation", which is defined as, and includes every club and association affiliated with Hockey Australia via a state Member Association. This means every club and regional association affiliated with Hockey WA. The Hockey Australia National Integrity Framework (NIF) has been developed in partnership with Sports Integrity Australia. The other core integrity policies that fall outside the NIF have been designed by Hockey Australia to ensure the concepts, language and dispute resolution processes are complementary and aligned. Collectively , they provide a framework to help keep hockey safe, fair and inclusive.
Hockey WA encourages all clubs and regional associations to embrace the suite of policies available to them as their own. This is not just a need, but an opportunity for all clubs to have a policy platform that offers consistent parameters to all Australian Hockey Organisations, fostering a sense of unity and shared responsibility.
